OUR METHOD

A clear source. An honest starting point.

You should be able to tell what a guide is based on before you use its recommendation.

Research and testing are labelled separately

A source-based guide draws on published information. A hands-on report would require actual use records, photographs and a description of the conditions. The guides currently on this site are research guides. Cover photographs are licensed stock images labelled as illustrative scenes, and drawings are explanatory illustrations — neither is a photograph of a product test we performed.

Use the exact product information

We check model names, variants and the conditions attached to the information we cite. Retail prices, stock, sellers and bundles can change, so the current retailer page and manufacturer instructions should be checked before buying. We link to those sources and show the date of each guide.

Make the limitations useful

A published feature is not an independently measured result. A manufacturer durability statement is not a long-term test by this publication. Where the correct material, vehicle condition or application is unclear, we keep that uncertainty visible rather than presenting a universal answer.

Explain the product links

Some product links are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The comparison, questions and sources remain part of each guide independently of its shopping links.
